I wish I could find some bi and lesbian women in my area to be friends with. I want to learn more about being attracted to women, about the culture. Am I lesbian or Bi?  I think of myself as bi since I have had a lifetime of relationships with men....I'm just done with men. I can't imagine dating or touching a man ever again.

Saying you are bi seems to make some women nervous, I feel pressure to say lesbian.  I had a woman tell me I was "choosing" to be with women so I was somehow less than lesbian....?  All I know is once you have been with a woman there is no going back to men.

After 8 years of dealing with the "bi bias", i've gotten more than a little frustrated at how hypocritical some people are. That is what I have come to decide, and while I do not really enjoy the company of men anymore, my life has taught me to never close doors, I might miss out on a great thing. I've instead realized that the people that call me "confused" in the least, and a lot worse at times, it's their stuff, not mine, and they're just missing out on getting to know one of the most loyal people they'll ever meet. Their loss, not mine. I do not ever hang out with narrow minded people, so why should I care what they think. Good luck!

Wow, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. That sounds wonderful.  At this stage in my life the idea of living with another woman sounds so appealing. The understanding, the nurturing...to be with someone that gets where you are in your head would be awesome.

I am in the same positon! I have always dated men but I am getting married in the spring to a woman! I too have struggled with coming out and having no friends to talk to about the experience. I would like to meet some friends also.

I have gotten this reaction from lesbian women too. There is no confusion but I guess if you come from a place of wantign women exclusively its is difficult to imagine someone being attracted to both. I dated men for decades, even married one....but all that is changed now. It is so completely different with a women, so much more nurturing and I feel accepted exactly as I am.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I am bi too which for me means that I have been with men and don't rule it out in the future but I know I prefer women and want a relationship with a woman. But I feel like there is real bias against bi people. A friend of mine calls it the land of the confused but I don't feel confused about it.
