Why is it that white lesbian women are frightened of black lesbian women? I live in Iowa, where the black population is about 10% if that much, and the gay community even smaller. When I go to the clubs I can count on my finger how many black people are there. It's usually about 3 or 4, and people act as if I have some type of disease. I'm a well educated young lady and am very independent. I hate when people judge me before getting to know me. Can someone tell me what's the problem?

whatever the problem is , it's not you.i feel your pain. i can't imagine living in a place with such a small gay population. as far as the white gays go i think they don't befriend you because they're afraid you'll pull the white women.so they freeze you out hoping you'll go away. hang in there someone will come your way.
