Limitations From Our Past

I've been considering for the longest time starting a daily blog about things that are weighing on my heart. I've had a lot of positive feedback on some statuses I've posted lately and I greatly appreciate the emails, comments, and instant messages from friends saying they appreciate the motivation. :) So with that today I was thinking about how so many people are struggling because they are dealing with limitations from their past. I see so many people holding on to what people have said to hurt their feelings, (I myself have done this all too many times). I understand that people have told you:

"You aren't good enough."

"You aren't strong enough."

"You will never make it."

I understand that a lot of you not only have heard these things but also felt them on the inside. We all have a past whether that is an addiction you have had, whether that is a failed relationship that really hurt you on this inside, an abusive relationship, a loss of a friend or loved on that made you lose faith, etc etc.

Things can so easily beat us down emotionally, spiritually, and physically, but I am here to tell you that you deserve the best and you are GOOD ENOUGH!

Your gifts have been instilled in you by God! Don't let things people have spoken over you hold you back from becoming who you are meant to be! You must reject the negative ideas of others and start speaking positive things into your life:

"I am good enough and I do deserve the best."

"I am going to meet someone who loves me the way I deserve to be loved."

"I am strong and smart and God will see me through anything going on in my life."

I know there are obstacles. I know that it's so easy to say, but Abby I don't have an education, I will never break this addiction, I'll never accomplish my dreams.....I don't have the resources, I don't have the talent.... But I believe that God has already put inside you what you need. A lot of people miss the good things that God wants to bring into their life because they aren't willing to accept it. They talk themselves out of believing in bigger and better things. I am guilty of this. I stopped believing in myself. My family situation had me stressed, my education wasn't taking me anywhere, and I even stopped talking about God. I had an amazing friend in my life who was asking me to grow spiritually and I was so numb that I wasn't aware that I was shutting down. I didn't feel good enough to have a personal relationship with God. I ran across something online that made me question why I was at such a standstill. I made myself start reading and I asked God to give me wisdom and hope and I have faith that I am going to grow, that I have a purpose, and that I do deserve to have a good relationship with my family, my friends, and most importantly God.

Don't settle for where you are at now. I know your dream may be bigger then the environment you are living in. Sometimes God will push you out of a comfortable situation because he has bigger and better things in store for you. Losing a job is a good example or you and your partner splitting up. A very smart man said to me, "Just because someone walked out of your life and left you hurt, that does not mean you should retreat and settle where you are." The rejection doesn't change what God has put on the inside of me. Keep a good attitude and God will open another door for you.

I will end this with please keep pressing forward. Setbacks can easily stray you from your path to greatness. Do not settle for anything in life less that what you truly deserve. Your dreams may seem very far away, but they are in your heart for a reason. Bad things do still happen to amazing people, (addiction, divorce, abuse) Things do happen for a reason and unfortunately sometimes to happens so your seed is unable to take root and grow. God made you with something amazing on the inside so hold on to faith and keep pressing forward because I am telling you we all deserve happiness and we must try to develop a habit of happiness for ourselves.
